Since publishing is our business and our members are our priority, we thought it would be fun to encourage those writers among you to submit offerings for potential publication.
Have something to say? We'll publish it
You know, so you can see your name in print and all that jazz.
It will also help provide a glimpse into what our community members get up to in their free time, while also offering up current topics for discussion in our member forum.
Fancy yourself as a writer? Well here's your chance to get published
We are particularly interested in content that gives us an insight into who you are and what you are all about .... so writeups about the latest events, experiences or holidays you've enjoyed; critiques on movies, concerts, theatre or dance shows; new products; food and wine reviews; beauty products, all that kind of stuff.
Or if you're feeling particularly hot under the collar about the issues of the day affecting you, your loved ones or the broader community, why not have a vent.
But be warned, this is not a platform for inciting fear and hate. Bullies and trolls will not be tolerated. If you wouldn't show it to your mother, then please don't think we'll publish it here.
Consider this platform as your digital soapbox for respectful, fair and reasoned debate
Other members can comment at the end of your articles, mark your work out of five stars, or use it as inspiration to post a rebuttal.
To get started is easy. Just spend a little time compiling a balanced , fair critique ... not ignoring the who, what, where, when and how rules of factual reporting.
Just click on "Contribute" under "My Ys"
Then go to the "My Ys" category in the grey strip at the top of this page, click on "Contribute" and there you go, easy-peasy lemon-squeezy .... just follow the prompts.
Please be mindful that not all submissions will make it to print. The editor has final approval and will be looking for content that is engaging, balanced and informative. Anything containing profanity, discriminatory or potentially libellous comment will be rejected outright.
So if writing is your thing, why not give it a go. Who knows what you'll learn about yourself.
