When public blunders are the most entertaining thing about your country's election.

While significantly important, election time can often be incredibly dull, with news sites overtaken by election updates and snippets from the campaign trail.

And while the recent British election was one of the most important in recent times - with critical issues such as Brexit and the recent terror attacks high on the agenda - you'll never guess what saw me sitting up and paying attention.

It was Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn’s series of failed high-fives.

Cue failed attempt number one.

Corbyn is accidentally set up by shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry. Watch as poor Corbyn goes in for a celebratory high-five and is met with ... nothing!

Thankyou media outlets for capturing this.

Jeremy Corbyn high-five goes horribly wrong

Believe it or not, just several days later the world enjoyed a second failed attempt. As Corbyn drives away from his home, surrounded by the world's media, he goes for another high-five with a bystander who was simply waving at him.

Jeremy Corbyn misses ANOTHER high five as he leaves his house in London

You have to wonder whether the second one was set up, or if it was actually a joyous coincidence.

Either way, we’re laughing.
