The best piss-take of the postal plebiscite I've seen
Here at hotelnepal, we've been getting riled up at the ridiculous scenario unfolding in Canberra on an extremely important issue, marriage equality.
In a nutshell, our political leaders have been ignoring the overwhelming majority of the public, who support the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex folk to get married. Instead, they've frustratingly preferred to put their own needs first and play politics with the lives of millions of Australians.
This is not on!
And it all came to a head this week, with Malcolm Turnbull declaring that instead of a holding a conscience vote in Parliament, we'd instead be asked to cast our vote in a very expensive, non legally binding postal plebiscite.
Anyway, there have been many words written about this important issue in recent months, by many better qualified than myself.
But none have captured the farcical nature of our inept government - and the unique challenge that it presents to Australia Post - as well as those clever guys at SBS's The Feed.
Here, they poke fun at the big issue via a satirical mockumentary on how life is now unfolding behind the scenes at Australia Post.
