About Foodbank

From humble beginnings, Foodbank has grown enormously to become the largest hunger relief organisation in Australia.

Foodbank is a conduit between the food industry’s surplus food and the welfare sector’s need to ensure all Australians have enough food to eat.

The Foodbank School Breakfast Program also provides breakfast to participating schools. We are also the largest provider of nutrition education and healthy eating programs.

The results from our 2017 Christmas Appeal are in and we’re excited to say that it was our most successful appeal yet.

We called on the WA community to dig deep to help feed children who would otherwise go without a meal at Christmas time -- and your response was overwhelming.

This year we raised:

  • 331,302 additional meals;
  • 2500+ festive food hampers delivered.
  • The following initiatives contributed to this incredible result:

    Christmas direct mail appeal

    Raised enough funds to purchase 260,000 additional meals.

    Festive food drives

    Over 180 food drives were hosted throughout the state, raising enough food to provide 49,678 additional meals.

    Hawaiian Giving Box

    Else>>>an 21,624 additional meals were donated via the Hawaiian Giving Boxes, located in Hawaiian shopping centres and online.

    Give A Feed

    We exceeded our target of 2500 festive food hampers delivered to local families in time for Christmas, with additional funds raised going towards the purchase of more food.

    A huge thanks to our staff, volunteers and ambassadors for making this possible.

    Your efforts have certainly made a huge difference to the lives of local families doing it tough.
